20-year-old man killed, mother injured after shooting in northeast Houston, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A 20-year-old man was killed, and his mother was injured in a shooting in northeast Houston on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

According to the Houston Police Department, the shooting happened near the intersection of Mesa Drive and Ley Road.

Investigators at the scene told Eyewitness News that the mother and son were shot, and the gunman was still on the run.

HPD has not released details on the mother's condition or what led up to the shooting
